Summary: Check Defense is a fast-growing federal contractor seeking a qualified and experienced professional Network Administrator II responsible for working on the Health Information Technology System (HITS) and the Defense Information Systems Engineering (DISE) projects. This position requires a combination of technical education and certifications related to computer and network technology.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Implement, manage, and maintain network solutions for HITS and DISE systems.
- Provides ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, and overcomes performance problems.
- Installs, maintains, and coordinates the use of network systems.
- Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems, and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLA requirements.
- Reports on overall network performance, including frequent problems, underlying issues, and plans to improve network availability, performance, and problem resolution.
- Trains users, maintains, creates, and deletes user accounts.
- Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures, and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Participate in the development and execution of system testing and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
- Maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms.
- Enforces network security policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electronics, specializing in Computer and Network Technology, or related field.
- Current certifications in CompTIA Network+ and EAM MD-100: Windows 10/11, Managing Modern Desktops.
- Valid US-issued Driver’s License.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with both technical teams and military personnel.
- Flexibility to work varied hours in a dynamic training environment, including possible weekends and holidays, as training schedules demand.
Exception to Educational Requirement:
- Candidates with at least 10 years of experience in networking and computer programming/repair may apply without the associate degree but must complete the degree within 24 months of accepting the position.
Working condition:
- Indoors in varying light conditions
- Exposure to bright flashes of light.
- Noise between 50db to 165db.
- Some travel required.
Physical Requirements:
- Do repetitive tasks.
- Requires frequently standing, walking, and sitting.
- Required to stoop under or squat, kneeling, and crouching.
- Able to reach with your hands and arms, talk, and hear.
