Job Purpose:
Check Defense is a fast-growing federal contractor seeking professional employees to serve as IW Doctrine & Training Developer Instructor, providing doctrine development, training product creation, and instructional support for the U.S. Army Special Operations Center of Excellence (SOCoE). This role supports Army Irregular Warfare (IW) initiatives by developing and revising doctrine, training products, and Programs of Instruction (POIs) that integrate Special Operations and Conventional Forces in accordance with Army, TRADOC, and USASOC guidance.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Doctrine and training developer and instructor has primary development responsibilities for FID, Counterterrorism (CT), and Counterinsurgency (COIN) as each address’s IW activities.
- Developer may be required to conduct surges and assist developing products outside of their area of primary responsibility.
- Conduct research and mission analysis to develop or revise IW doctrine and training products
- Develop, update, and maintain doctrine and training materials in Army systems of record, including TDC and ATMS
- Integrate IW doctrine across Army Conventional Forces and Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF)
- Analyze Army TOEs, TDAs, AUTL/UJTL tasks, and lessons learned to inform doctrine and training development
- Develop individual and collective IW tasks in compliance with Army and TRADOC standards
- Coordinate with other Army Centers of Excellence, Joint and Interagency partners, and operational units
- Conduct peer reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and doctrinal alignment
- Support staffing, review, and publication of doctrine and training products
- Provide briefings and written products to inform senior leaders and decision-makers
- Travel to observe training, validate products, and support integration events as required
- Produce monthly progress reports and after-action reports following training or integration events
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience (within the last 5 years) as an Army-trained doctrine or training developer, or Combined Army Training Strategy (CATS) developer utilizing the Army approved software programs and/OR prior active-duty service in one or more of the following:
- Special Forces
- Civil Affairs
- Psychological Operations
- 75th Ranger Regiment
- Graduate of a Doctrine Developer Course or TRADOC-recognized equivalent
- Experience with Training Development Capability (TDC)
- Demonstrated experience producing doctrine or training products aligned with Army and TRADOC regulations
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and access to government systems (NIPR/SIPR)
Preferred:
- Experience with Army Training Management System (ATMS)
- Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Experience supporting Irregular Warfare, Counterinsurgency (COIN), Counterterrorism (CT), or Foreign Internal Defense (FID) missions
- Experience coordinating with Joint, Interagency, or Allied partners
- Prior instructional or facilitation experience in military training environments
Travel:
- CONUS and OCONUS travel required (e.g., Fort Moore, Fort Leavenworth, Washington, DC, Germany, and other Army/Joint locations)
