Job Purpose:
Check Defense, LLC a fast-growing federal contractor, is seeking Makeup Technicians in the Ft. Irwin, CA area to providing top-notch professional makeup services to our clientele in support of on-going training exercises. The Makeup Technician will use of moulage kits and makeup to enhance the combat training environment by creating simulated realistic battlefield injuries and wounds.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with government OPS GRP to determine the required simulated injuries and desired look.
- Utilize moulage (wound simulation) packages and makeup to simulate serious wounds and injuries.
- Deliver a realistic simulated realistic battlefield injuries and wounds based on the scenario objectives for training; prohibited from any deviation from the training scenario without guidance from the role player manager.
- Create casualty effects that simulate bullet and blast effects, shrapnel wounds, traumatic amputation, head trauma, arterial bleeding, compound. Fractures, and body dismemberment.
- Stay updated on the latest makeup trends, techniques, and products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of makeup tools and workspace.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
- Uphold company standards for professionalism, hygiene, and quality of service.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to meet all security requirements for access to a federal installation.
- Possess a High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Possess excellent oral & written skills to include the ability to listen & interpret messages correctly.
- Must possess outstanding communicative skills (verbal & nonverbal).
- Able to speak, read, and write in both English.
- Proven experience as a Makeup Technician, preferably with experience working with military role players.
- Proficiency in various makeup techniques, including contouring, highlighting, and moulage creation and application.
- Knowledge of different skin types, tones, and textures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification or training in makeup artistry is a plus.
Working condition:
- Primarily inside a climate-controlled environment suitable for makeup application.

- Do repetitive tasks.
- Able to ride in tactical and/or non-tactical vehicles to include Army Helicopters wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

- Able to reach with your hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Lifting: frequently lift and move up to 20lbs.
- Vision: required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel:
- Able to perform periodic travel lasting up to Sixteen (16) days.
